Meditation music
Meditation music is very different from the traditional understanding of the term “music”. Normal music invades the mind with rhythm and a variety of sounds. Needless to say, such invasion of sound distracts the mind and leads the listener away from quiet contemplation.
On the other hand, many practitioners find that using an audio recording specifically produced as a meditation tool helps them to enter a deeper meditative state more quickly.
My advice is that you “do not reinvent the wheel”. There are proven combinations of light music and specific tone and timbres designed to assist in meditation. Used throughout history by millions of people, these tools have been chosen for their effectiveness.
Time-tested meditation music is produced by using:
- Tibetan singing bowls
- Rin gongs
- Wooden fish (wooden block)
- Korean moktak
- Japanese mokugyo instruments
Have you ever been immersed in a sound that seems to reach deep into your soul and bring the whole of you to life?
If you listen closely to the sound of the Tibetan Singing Bowls, you may start to notice that it is like falling into a state of deep enchantment. It is common to feel warmth, aliveness and joy spreads throughout your body like golden light, giving you a sense of peace As you let go of worries from the past, you can envisage a new future that is bright and peaceful, and move forward with a new sense of clarity.
My favourite meditation music CD was produced with the aid of traditional Tibetan Singing Bowls, which are by far the best choice of instrument for meditation music.
This musical journey starts with a guided meditation, and ends with the sublime Tibetan Singing Bowls. This is truly an experience that you should not miss out on.
